I have NEVER heard of a fire started by venting dryer exhaust air through a nylon stocking filter. You are using this space to advertise something to make money on something that is just a tiny bit "green".
For the changes needed to reduce emissions 90% in less than a decade, and reduce population by half in a generation, big things have to be done. Greenifying existing structures and all new construction, and changing the way we live on a massive scale. A massive worldwide educational effort for reducing all human emissions 90% within a decade and reduction in world population of 50% in a generation. Otherwise nature will reduce population 90% and climate will go quickly toward the ELE of thermageddon.

The drier is not the problem here, it is the energy that is being used to begin with. A plant is going to pollute the environment weather you use your dryer or not. The best way to build green is with the usage of solar panels or wind turbines. The main source that produces the electricity needs to be green, hanging your cloths is good, but you are still paying a polluting electric company every month keeping them strong and in business. The way to go green is to eliminate polluting companies, and start using alternative energies.

Our house is a super insulated hybrid of frame and Earthship. Many recycled tires and other items were used, including glass and wood for trim. Rammed earth tire walls are great retaining walls. Concrete bond beams were used. Total solar power is 1024 watts of panels twin 2400 watt inverter/chargers and a manual 1000 watt sine wave inverter(for guitar stacks). 12 L-16S 410 Ah batteries. 100 sq. ft. interior worm equipped gardens with slip formed soil cement, rebar/aluminum cans walls. Scrap rebar was used for vertical wall reinforcement, every other tire, every other course center soil cement. Indigenous soil used for tire packing, soil cement voids and half tires, sub floor soil cement, and base coat stucco. Low power and water use appliances and lights, one composting toilet and outside composter, too. We would have used straw bales too, but they were not cost effective at this location. Earthship/straw bale construction is the greenest of the green, of course, with independent alternative enrgy systems, too.
    1) Use of re-used, recycled , and indigenous materials (minimal use of wood, concrete, and steel)
    2) Super insulation with thermal mass and solar thermal gain
    3) Solar and/or wind electric with low power use lights and appliances
    4) Low water use appliances, grey water systems, water recycling systems
    5) Composters including gardens, outside coposters, and composting toilets
    6) Hybrid/ high efficiency, electric, and/or human powered vehicle(s)
    7) the biggest thing is one or none with kids

    Re:Green building growing in popularity

Green and sustainable building practices are rapidly growing in popularity in Costa Rica as more technology, suppliers, materials, and developments become available. In the U.S., green building is the fastest growing segment of the construction market, and many leading companies have announced plans to “green” their corporate offices. Studies have shown that people living and working in green buildings lead happier and more productive lives.

I wonder what the definition of "green" is for this statement and there are no links supporting them, either. One thing with hired out construction trades is the CO2 of travel for the tradesmen. To be really even near green, the buildings must have 4 out of the 7 characteristics above. Otherwise it is fake green. The people living and working in them must also live green at home, in their lifestyle, and with their diets and transportation, and especially the part about one or no kids.

There are simpler ways to cut down electricity and save energy(SunFusion Energy). You can insulate your walls and ceilings and replace your windows with the double gazed ones. Planting shady trees around your house keeps it cooler and reduces the use of air conditions. You can contribute towards the energy saving movement in these simple ways

Actually, anything less than seven out of seven is not really green.
