Yeah this is a great idea, and so simple as well. My bank has a facility on its website where you can just tick 'no paper statements' - one of the easiest ways to be greener in my opinion!
This sounds quite random, but one thing I do is save the boxes I get with Chinese takeaway and use them as storage instead of tupperware. Not much, but something small is better than nothing :-)
I also always use reusable plastic cups to get drinks from my local gas station on the way to work. Keeps me from using a paper cup for morning coffee and avoids the waste of throwing away several cups. One for hot one for cold and they get me through the day!
