Don't trash anything, give it away to someone who could use it. Sites like Exchango, Freecycle, and Craigslist are great places to give and get free stuff. I just found out about Exchango, the newest of all three, and while it's still growing a user base, it's by far my favorite. It lets you search locally or nationally for items given away, and you can even get items shipped to you.

If we all share resources by giving away things we don't use and get things we need from other people that don't use them, we can save money, keep perfectly good stuff from the landfill, and cut down the demand for new products that use precious resources. We should all live with less and live green!
