    I stumbled upon this recently and thought I might share it with you guys.

    Top 5 Energy Suckers At Home

    1) Heating and cooling systems
    2) Small Appliances
    3) Refrigerator
    4) Water Heater Tank
    5) Lighting

    Just a little addition...

    #2) Unplug those appliances not in use. Even on standby mode they still consume power, so it helps if it is totally unplugged.

    There are nifty little devices for sale all across the internet which you plug in between your device and the wall and it will tell you how much energy that one set up is sucking. They're pretty cool! We have several in use at our Denton, Texas Computer Recycling Company Warehouse to determine how much energy we're using at work. The easiest way to cut back is to know what you're using and then set an attainable goal to use less.
