Our Sun could supply us humans with plenty of energy for millions of years into a wonderful future, if only we could learn to live in peace and balance. Instead, we are greedily and stupidly growing our overpopulated economy on this shrinking planet and polluting it beyond reclamation - and sending ourselves into extinction. What a tragedy!
Elite Clean Energy is just a SPAMMER, Jaunty.
Yes @nrdthxpr... with greediness increasing daily.. we do not have limitations on our usages, we keep on expecting some or other and need it. Very few or little of us are caring for the environment, but some spoil it when we grow it.
Some one should write "The Life of a Planet".
Val, I'm going to answer them anyway because I must, even if they don't read it, some one else might. What else can I do to awaken the ever-growing millions of people to the reality of what they're doing to the planet and to themselves?! How do we reason with addictive behavior? Corporate greenology is fine, but it doesn't stop the overpopulated ever-growing economy from dumping tons of garbage and sludge into the ocean every day, or the proliferation of coal-fired power plants and jet planes that continue to pump tons of pollution up into the atmosphere every day. On a slowly shrinking planet there is no such thing as "sustainble growth" because there is nowhere else to grow, unless they find another living planet to colonize, but it could not be reached within anyone's lifetime. We're stuck with this planet and no other, so common sense says we should take good care of it, but instead, those addicted to "grow the economy" pretend it will go on indefinitely just to supply their insane greed forever!

Here is something right in line with what you are saying;
Growthbusters: Hooked on Growth » Synopsis
read that then click on "trailer" at the top left, and watch.
There are some of my favorite experts there.
Val, it sounds like it might be an important documentary IF it is ever completed. But maybe it would have as much and more influence online and on TV. But in these hard economic times how many people can afford to buy and learn how to operate a computer, or even go to a theater? The vast majority watch TV every day and evening. That's where the biggest audiences are. But what is broadcast is tightly controlled by big corporations, so good luck to the producers. They'll need it.
