    “The U.S. wind energy industry shattered all installation records in 2009, chalking up the Recovery Act as a historic success in creating jobs, avoiding carbon, and protecting consumers,” said AWEA CEO Denise Bode. But there is still much to be done; it will take effort to keep it that way, and allow wind to flourish into a great energy solution for the nation. One way to keep on this track is national Renewable Energy Standard (RES), which help provide the necessary stability to keep expanding US operations in the wind industry.

    China is also gearing towards wind energy. Last year alone its power capacity from wind doubled from 12 gigawatts to 25. This is at least 30% of total power produced through wind energy according to what I've read.
