Right now we are only able to use Photovoltaic cells to convert sun light into energy and wind turbines to generate electricity. It is a start, and we are on a way to finding better ways to use the resources that we have. When you think about Solar energy you have to think of the source, the "Sun". It decides whether to give life or take it away. For those of you that do not know, the Sun does this by creating fusion, the sun Fuses atoms together during this process it releases neutrons and this is energy. We are able to mimic this but are not able to convert it into useable electricity. So wouldn't this eliminate " Green " energy?
Nice idea! what do you think is the other ways? not really familiar on this.. I mean on the sun thing and its conversion to whatever it may form..Is there any suggestions that you can give to us..it seems that you know more on this issue..I will really appreciate of whatever you will suggest as a solution for all of this...

well since this is a green forum i don't want to go too deep into physics and atomics. but one thing that really dissapoints me is that people have only been collecting energy from the sun by photovaltaic cells... i'm sure there are many other ways of utilizing the sun to collect energy. I've recently looked into sterling engines. They are engines with a piston that run on heat. So, you know how when you're a kid n you use a magnifying glass to burn up some ants? (hahaha well that's wat I did) I think you could use this same method with a sterling engine. This would be a mechanical way of generating energy from the sun. But, I have not tried this. Does anyone know if it will be able to work?

I am under the impression that alternative fuel sources won't be pushed that much by nations governments as long as there is still crude oil available. I don't think it would be running out soon. Not soon enough that people would be desperate to turn to the alternative sources.

Besides, it's (OIL) a very big money-making industry with the big guys investments perhaps tied up to it. It's gonna be difficult when your campaign funds came from these guys.

HAHA yah... these guys still want to make some more money. What will be the use of crude oil if we already got Hydrogen cars and electric cars.

...and in order for the government to do anything, we need to do something. Contact your local and state officials to let THEM know your thoughts. Everybody here is going to agree that we need green energy, but the specific policies need to be reviewed and pushed by our politicians that need to be prodded by those that pay the bills US. contact them today!

I have to agree that having green things in our life will be spearheaded by politicians that can move resources to have better living.
