    Smile Starting a Wind Farm

I'm a 20-year-old college student from San Diego, CA and I've recently
started my own campaign to build a wind farm on my family's 160-acre
property in Boulevard, CA. The wind farm would generate enough power for 7,200 homes. I've already started a web page and began designing and printing wind related t-shirts to help gain support for the project. There's a link to the site in my signature.

I've ran across this forum and decided join. From what I've read already i can tell this will be a good place to share ideas and talk about green energy. I look forward to our future conversations.

    Hi,

I'm a 19 year old university student from London, and I have been doing some research into starting a commercial wind farm on the family property in Wiltshire.
I was wondering if you had any advice as it sounds as though your a lot further along in the process? Has it been successful? What kinds of costs are we looking at and what would be the minimum wind speed? (I roughly calculated ours to be about 13-14 miles per hour or about 7metres per second.

Thanks. Any advice would be of great help.

Default Any experience with single turbines?

I am interested in learning about a small turbine that powers small homesteads. Any experience with them or idea on costs? This is not a short term idea, just curious.

I have seen a DIY wind farm. I really want to have one too but I guess solar energy is more viable in our place.

Thats great, its an excellent option. Wind forms are not just for your benefits, you are also helping to preserve the ecology buy using the natural wind resource.

I wish your project should be a great success.

I guess its an expensive project and you should be aware of all the business techniques to take care of the safety of your investment too.

I wonder how hard it would be to have a DIY combo to charge a generating battery when one or the other does not work.

What does it take to build a wind farm by the way? Can it be placed in any location or do you have to check if the winds are really good in that area? How about if the place is along the path where hurricanes usually go through. Just curious.. .
