renewable energy generation
My question is why are countries, especially those that are rich, 1st world or highly industrialized, whatever you call them are too slow in tapping energy from renewable resources?
Say for example wind energy. The technology for this has been around for several years, probably more than a decade. Yet growth of power generation from renewable energy is crawling like a turtle. What is the general reason?
I think it's not that easy. If you close down plants using fossil fuel to generate electicity, think of the number of people who will lose their jobs. Also, constructing more power plants that tap renewable energy, is that needed for now? There might be an oversupply of power, if there is such a case, what would happen then?
There should be a transition phase. Like retiring very old coal plants for newer power plants that are environmentally friendly. A gradual transfer so to speak.
