Default electric power from sea current

Hydropower technology which is basically power derived from the force of moving water has been around for several years already. Dams are built from flowing bodies of water, like a river or waterfall, to harness its force to power turbines that generate electricity. These are common, I think since I see a lot of it in many places.

I am wondering if there are already existing projects where electricity is generated through sea current? I've read a few articles about this in the news, but they seem small scale. Like some coastal towns use this to power their street lights. But are there really big ones that power an entire city? If you know any, let me know.

Ya I just read one about the Noro Wave Power Barge (NJ-8). Its still a small project but could have a huge potential, I posted an article here in the News Section.

You might wanna read the full article at Sun.Star.

There are little projects like that, even high power plants. I have watched it in the Discovery channel. Wind mills of about 50m are built in the sea with a strong basement, These require a ship, a crane, and alt east to Helicopters.

Its expensive project. But we can avail lot of power from it.

Yeah its true .If you want to see it once you try to visit India as there are hundreds of small towns here and great rivers flowing through it you can see some projects really generating electricity from it which is sufficient enough for a small town.
