Default Green House for Tropical Climates

Most of the green house posts I read are for those who have 4 seasons in a year. Are there any that is specifically for tropical climates or those that have sun and rain only seasons? Glad to hear any suggestions & tips from anyone.

I've always liked earth berm homes or dome homes with alot of concrete and insulation to battle the heat. You make them just right and all you need is a fan in the summer. Let me know what you think.

That's a great idea, because it would be effective in all seasons, and even protect against tornados and earthquakes (but not volcanos).

Not true, if you built a dome home that floats on water or one in space you wouldn't have to worry about tornados...... just sunamis and oxygen. Heh, beat ya to it.

I'm not into games, but you did pose an interesting idea.
In the "Wizard of Oz" Dorothy's Aunt, Uncle and helpers all went down into the storm cellar to escape the tornado. Yet today very few home builders, home buyers or home renters on the plains of the USA even think about a storm cellar, and every tornado season some of them get blown away. Why is that?

I can take your question two different ways so in order to be sure I answer it correctly at least once, I will answer it twice. Make sense? Ok, there are a multitude of reasons. First of all, people are usually optomistic and tend to believe anything bad will happen in the other town, not thiers or simply, to the other guy. Think about people on a volcanic island. Just the pyroclastic cloud alone can kill everyone in a town or village but yet, they stay knowing the possibilities. Maybe it has something to do with roots and not wanting to pull up stakes and leave. Maybe people that know about the dangers just simply never think about a tornado hitting thier home so they build your average, tornado treat of a house. Now, here's my other answer to your question, just to cover all bases. You said, "every tornado season some of them get blown away. Why is that?" Well, the first thing off the top of my head is, tornados can produce winds up to 300 mph. and that is why people get blown away. I hope that helped you. Have a nice day.

Both your answers are emphasizing the obvious. What is not so obvious is the absence of any federal, state or local programs to help the people protect themselves by digging storm cellars as close as possible to their front or back doors, or in their basement, if they have one, so they can go there at a minute's notice. As it is they hide in their bathrooms where, as often as not, they are found dead.

What I don't understand is why some ambitious entrepreneur hasn't already launched a sales campaign to dig a small storm cellar for anyone for as little as $20 a month for 28 months, or some such credit arrangement. It should be popular, considering the danger everyone faces who lives anywhere around a tornado prone area. Somebody has the investment capital, so what's stopping them?
