Default Thinking of starting a tiny house community. Good or Bad Idea?

I am going to purchase plans for a Tumbleweed home and build one. An extremely tiny house. 89 square feet to be exact. I'm considering buying some land and starting a "Tumbleweed Community". A community of tiny Tumbleweed houses for minimalists and environmentally conscience homeowners (172 square foot max).

If you're not familiar with these houses, here is their website
    Houses

Just as a survey and nothing more, would anybody be a part of this?

WAY TOO MUCH MONEY!!! My God!!! What a joke!!! Design and build it yourself, it is a LOT cheaper. For a REAL eco-house-----REAL MEN build Earthships!!!! Anyone with half a brain can build a little house.

A 12 x 14 one would only cost $1,300 or so for the whole thing, insulated, on a concrete slab, with a small solar electric system! Double that for a compost toilet and small wood stove. 168 sq. ft. with adding in interior finish and cabs, around $4,000 tops, and a similar size one from them is $40,000!!!!!
Houses get cheaper per square foot when they are a little bigger. And real eco-houses a little more.
Our little two module Earthship cost 12K for 400 sq. ft. w/ 90 sq. ft. of interior gardens in addition(700 on the roof), a 425 gal. rainwater catchment tank, 128W of solar into 4 golf cart batteries, 3 lights, 3 outlets, Biolet toilet and wood stove, too. Small vanity, folding stand up privacy walls, solar shower, futon bed, and shelf and rod system.

It's an excellent idea and I admire your spunk to go ahead and do it. I'm just an old pensioner so I can't afford it, but I can cheer from the sidelines.

The ideal, but very elusive situation, is a small group of people who grow their own food, recycle their own waste, sew their own clothes, build their own shelters, educate their own children, and thus live as independently as possible. I lived in such a community for eight years, until the members got tired of equally sharing inciome and labor and turned into a seniority-based corporate entity, at which time I left. Perhaps a family based effort has a better chance of enduring success. Good luck.
