The Conservative Party (political party who are hot favourites to win the next British general election in spring 2009) have pledged to establish a nationwide network of charge points.
When implemented this, together with major car manufacturers such as Renault, Toyota and Vauxhall set to release a range of new all electric cars, will revolutionize the British motor scene.
The present Labour government have pledged to introduce (in 2012) a £5,000 incentive for anyone who buys an electric car. It is not clear at this stage if the Conservatives will honour this pledge, but if they do, it will herald the beginning of the end for petrol engine cars in the UK. - News 11th October 2009
