OUTER BANKS - NewsChannel 3 has obtained exclusive new information about the battle over off-road vehicles on some Outer Banks beaches.
The National Park Service uses the words "record-breaking" to describe the wildlife situation on the Outer Banks for the year 2010.
15 endangered Piping Plover were born this year. The previous high was 12 in 1998. 30 American Oyster Catchers were born. The previous high was 24 in 2001. And 150 Sea Turtles have hatched this year. The previous high was 112 in 2008, and the turtle nesting season isn't yet complete.
