U.S. organic farming has grown wildly for the last two decades, but with food demand rising and cash-strapped shoppers pinching pennies, are greener acres still the place to be?
Is organic food worth the cost? | MNN - Mother Nature Network
The minute organic farming becomes a big business it is unworthy of anyone's trust, and that is exactly what is happening as agribusiness corporations buy out the small organic food producers. Thus, the only way to be sure you are eating organically grown food is to grow it yourself in your own back yard of field, or buy it privately from your friendly neighbor who grows organic food for his or her own use and is not in the business of food production. Tragically, the number of people who own parcels of land is dwindling as corporations buy up the entire planet to corner all the markets and turn almost everyone into wage and debt slaves.
