I get a chuckle the way Bolivian President Evo Morales cuts to the chase of an issue, like when he said "Either we save capitalism or we save Mother Earth." The problem is, there isn't any workable social system to replace capitalism. Socialism creates a tyrannical bureaucracy as bad as the tyrannical corporations. The best we can do is to strictly regulate the free enterprise system to protect the people and the environment, and that can only be done through a genuinely democratic system of government, the rule of law preventing the rule of elite classes and personalities. But most important is education of the people to the reality of our planetary biosphere that we cannot live without and therefore must carefully nurture and safeguard by peacefully reducing the human population and recycling 100% of all our waste and garbage.
