BP engineers could have pumped warm sea water to melt the ice crystals in the first and larger dome. Why didn't they? Now, why are they planning to place a smaller "top hat" dome on top of a deliberately severed well pipe that may spew out 20% more oil, runnung the risk that the increased pressure might lift the smaller dome up and off?! If they're going to place a dome over the well pipe why not use the larger and heavier dome after pumping in warm sea water to melt the ice crystals?? What is wrong with these BP managers and engineers? Are they insane?!
