Surviving pristine wilderness areas will again be preserved, until our U.S. population again grows beyond its resources and needs to expand economic development, again. With the relentless inflow of illegal immigration, we're now at around 306 million and counting and since everyone wants to grow the economy, it's only a matter of time before the wilderness areas disappear forever -- unless the human race itself disappears under a heavily polluted and violently chaotic biosphere.
Oh, of course there is the possibility that human society might suddenly realize its mistake and reform while there is still time to do so, but that appears about as likely as the Taliban electing a woman to lead them.
