To improve the environmental benefit of biodegradable products, they should be designed to decompose more slowly, and more methane should be collected from landfills}quote.
The problem is too much going into landfills which are filling up fast with little other area to put it. Trash is a looming crisis because of overpopulation. Once landfill space runs out, it will go 3-4 feet deep in cities, which will then be cesspools of disease. Not only do landfills produce methane which should be captured and used for fuel which puts out the lesser HGHG CO2, but they also contain billions of tons of long term toxics like PVC. Biodegradable products are fine as long as there are not too much of them. There are too much of them from overpopulation which MUST be dealt with by rapid reduction before nature does it for us in an even faster and more cruel way.
