When the EPA says it regulates something, they're actually permitting it. No vessel should ever be allowed to flush its waste into a public body of water, and no ocean dumping should ever be permitted, but the influence of commercial expansion leads the EPA to the pretence of regulation so consumers and employees think everything is being taken care of. Instead, the biosphere is choking on the ever-growing mass of garbage, sludge and junk we humans produce every day. If we safely recycled all of it, all the unemployed would have jobs, but the corporations refuse to lower their enormous profits, not even to save the Earth and their own children from extinction, and almost everyone is standing by and watching it happen, because they're so entrapped and hypnotized by the process of economic growth, an instinct they don't want to think about. Thus, the human species is suicidally insane and self-doomed to oblivion. I wish I was wrong, but how else can such behavior be explained? We should safely recycle our waste materials and peacefully reduce our population, but people don't want to interrupt their race for wealth and power, even if it kills them, they're addicted.
