Increased cloud cover is caused by increased evaporation caused by rising industrial heat and air pollution. But the skeptics are trying to protect their wealth generated by their growing economy, regardless of consequences.
Cloud effects were the final study, with uncertainty up until the report from early this year that showed a net positive feedback effect from AGW's increased clouds. In other words the extra clouds hold in more heat.
The skeptics grasp at old arguments like straws and recycle them to create doubt with the populace that is not there in the scientific community.
Exactly right Val, the "skeptics" represent those businessmen who must grow the economy so they can go on getting more rich and powerful, which means they cannot admit any consequences, like ecocide and extinction. They live in a dream world of upper class priviledge, free to expand their insatiable appetites for more of everything forever onward and outward to other living planets to conquer and devour. They make planet Earth the cancer cell that it is. But I have news for them: There are no other living planets in the Cosmos because the "big bang" is cooling and shrinking all the stars and their orbiting satellites. So, by the time they reached them they would be cold and dead. So we're all stuck here on biosphere Earth, which fortunately has at least several more thousand years of life before it also cools and shrinks into a cold hard rock, during which time, if we become wise and restrain our predatory instincts, we can create a virtual paradise for everyone for at least several thousand years. But the "big boys" want to keep their superior status forever so they can discover the secret of eternal life, for them, no one else. Right now they're working on machine-physical fusion, as though a human being could actually become a robot with all parts replaceable forever. That's how insane they are.
