Dangerous industrial activity should never be permitted in or near residential areas, but most cities and towns permit it because so many jobs depend on it. So money talks and safety is a bad joke. I worked in such an area for many years and the air pollution was so bad many of the residents eventually got sick with various resperatory diseases, and recently they sued.
