Gore's eloquence is ignored by the big oil barons and their many susidiaries and corporate allies whose political influence far outweighs that of Gore with his dimly remembered fame as Vice President 12 years ago. So the big corporations can virtually sneer at the environmentalists and their dire warnings of ecocidal consequences. After all, the "Occupy Wall Street" movement is about growing the economy for more jobs for the growing population = more pollution not less. The great mass of humanity is trapped in the commercially manufactured habits of earning enough money to live comfortably, so they apparenty just cannot think beyond their day-to-day worries, and that is perhaps the greatest tragedy of our human species.
