Default New Suspect in 'Great Dying': Massive Prehistoric Coal Explosion (LiveScience.co

LiveScience.com - A great explosive burning of coal set fire and made molten by lava bubbling from the Earth's mantle , looking akin to Kuwait's giant oil fires but lasting anywhere from centuries to millennia, could have been the cause of the world's most-devastating mass extinction, new research suggests.

Still having the numerous repeat problem, I see. I will try to erase some of them.
On the subject of the news. It is an interesting take on the ELE 250 million years ago, but I wonder about that amount of coal from the previous 100 million years after life first started. Doesn't seem long enough to form that much coal.

If the Earth began as a huge cloud of hot gases near its parent star our sun, then it must have been slowly cooling and shrinking ever since, which means it was once much larger than it is now, and that explains the huge amount of minerals. like coal.

Paleo-archeologists believe a large comet hit the Yucatan Peninsula area around the time the dinasaurs disappeared. Perhaps that happened about the same time as the huge comet that struck Mars and burned away any atmosphere, water and life that might have evolved there. There are dry river beds visable today by our Mars explorers, and the long gash, much larger than our Grande Canyon, is so huge it can be seen from space.
So, were we lucky compared to Mars....or?
