    Default Pet Adoption

This is something that should strike a chord with fellow animal lovers. The Humane Society, Maddie's Fund and The Ad Council have started a campaign in partnership with the marketing company I work for that is designed to change the image of the shelter animal.

About 17 million people want to find a new pet anually and of the 8 million animals available in shelters every year more than a third are euthanized. Right now we are trying to change this number and increase the rate of shelter rescues. Shelter pets make for great additions to any family and are loving caring animals.

I personally have a cat, neko, who was a shelter pet and you never met a more friendly animal.

Check out the Pet Personals site here for info on shelters in your area: Adopt

I completely agree, shelter animals make excellent pets, they are so grateful for being given a home and a family. We have three cats, two of them adopted from a shelter, and one just a stray taken in. They are wonderful, friendly, and loving companions. No litterbox or behavior problems of any kind.
