I agree, and would add free tubal ligations, too. I chose that after one child, as the best way to to keep from having side effects, accidents, and another child.
Here in the USA we have equal rights and job/driving opportunities and aren't forced to wear junk like burkas. Not in places with billions of people though. Education, work besides housework, driving a vehicle, and what we can wear are restricted in half the world. The half that is ruining the environment with extreme overpopulation, for the most part.
Still, in countries like the USA that allow over-immigration from cultures that still over-breed, they do so even worse when they get here, then Americanize/Europeanize in their consumption, and pollute more than the third world countries they came from. Virtually all the growth in the USA and Europe, and Canada, is from this, when their populations and thus consumption and pollution would have gone down. But that would have cut the profits from the corporations that provide political funds.
The overpopulated third world desperately want to escape their own over-crowding and lack of employment caused by over-breeding. Some wish to conquer through the simple expedient of over-reproduction in the host democratic countries. Get the majority and you get the power to steal, to turn the countries into a caliphate, or communistic state.
So stopping them will cause conflict. They don't want less children, but more to conquer the stupid gringos or stupid infidels. They don't care about pollution or depletion. They don't really care about AGW and the methane self release tipping point. Their women are brain washed or totally subjugated, so would chose what their men want, or their culture, or god, or allah. They would not chose for themselves or with thought to future generations' survival.

This is what I am trying to get over to people, the huge population increases in the Western World with its destructive results on nature and its stripping in a generation the future resources of mankind is due to the birthrate in the Third World and the resulting mass migrations of peoples. Why is this happening - well it is no use blaming the immigrants themselves or propounding some weird theory of Racial Inferiority such as that it's natural for coloured people to have large families it's in their genes ( I suggest you look up the family size of Europeans pre-birth control ). The people to blame lie close to home in fact control our political system, yes you have guessed it - Big Business Capitalism, it's is they who want vast numbers of economic slaves. It is they who encourage these high birthrates in the Third World by using corrupt local politician to prevent the introduction of birth control methods and to hold down women in a violent male orientated society - and they use your taxes to do so! At the same time they errode via the paid stooges of the media the concept of a nation belonging to the decendents of the people who created that nation and reduce the countery to an economic area for the exploitation of migrant workers. As you become poorer that Class becomes even richer!

You know that even if 2/3rds of the population went to 1 or no children, the other third, having 4 to 8, will still cause ecocide.
It is an unfortunate reality, and it would be difficult to even get 2/3rds to have less kids. It is almost like two species, yet not speciated yet. The bad will take down the good with them. Those that can live and understand sustainability, are just too few, and with too little power. If people do not reduce numbers fast enough, and especially do not reduce HGHGs 90% in the next decade, it will go from a horrific crash to thermageddon, to another crash and ELE. Ecocide and worse, because of all the other wondrous life forms that will go down with us.
People, hopefully those who have learned their lesson of not living sustainably, may make it through the bottleneck and hard times of half a million years. Or humanity may go extinct because of over-breeding, stupidity, and greed.

Well said and I certainly agree! The women's liberation movement should be spread around the World so all women can feel free to decide if and when to birth their children. The big problem is "machismo", male supremacy. It's no coincidence that Tea Party Republicans want to privatize public schools, so they can teach and preach what their corporate supporters tell them to.

Parties are at odds with the wishes of the people. One party(D) is all for more immigration and legalizing illegals---increasing the population, especially on the lower spectrum intelligence side(against the wishes of 70%). The other party(R) is against that, but for increasing the population with child tax and pay credits, not funding family planning and necessary abortions, and both are pro-growth(along with the ignorant masses). Even the so-called Green Party is for the increase through immigration and legalizing criminals, yet also for "population stabilization". You can't have both, and the population needs reduction, not stabilization at 4 times what it should be. The Green Party wants to reduce CO2 at least, but is against any nuclear, when there is the 4th Gen reactors that will use radioactive wastes from the dirty, inefficient Gens 1-3, for hundreds of years, then can actually use sea water indefinitely. Hanson, our best man, believes in the Gen 4s, along with increased solar, wind, and wave power, with population reduction. But no political parties or politicians are on the side of sanity with all of the above and a steady state economy transition, dietary changes, electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles like the 25 year old ammonia to hydrogen car suppressed back then, and everything else to be totally a leader in the world for "real" green transition.
I would rather see McKibben or Hanson run for President, in an Earth Sanity Party. Even then, with the number of Americans "believing in" AGW down to less than a third from the half of 5 years ago, education must come first to get the majority green.

Perhaps the reason Gov. Jerry Brown is giving legal rights to illegal aliens is so they can get the minimum wage and eliminate the incentive of crooked corporations that hire them below minimum wage to lower their labor costs. But as we all agree, the source of the problem is the overpopulation in macho-dominated Central and South American nations where women are oppressed. You would think that common sense would tell a man that the more children he has the more people will be competing for not enough jobs and lowering everyone's wages; whereas fewer children make a labor scarcity to give workers the ability to bargain for higher wages. That's why the Tea Party wants to shut down the Public Schools so the workers would be too uneductaed to defend themselves, like it was back in Victorian times in the 1800s when there were no public schools and hardly any labor unions.
